Home Maintenance

Buying a new home is a major milestone in life.  It is the single greatest purchase we will ever make therefore it is essential to protect this investment.  Creating a schedule for home maintenance is highly recommended.  Knowing the parts of the home that require periodic maintenance and addressing them on a regular basis will keep them from becoming problematic. For example, the caulking around the windows should be checked semi-annually for cracks and/or shrinkage then re-caulked if needed. This maintenance measure will help prevent leaks when it rains and will help maintain the energy efficiency of the home.  Click here to see a sample maintenance checklist. If you prefer to track your home maintenance electronically, there are several home maintenance schedule apps available to download for free or for a fee to your phone or tablet.
